Abstract: The present paper deals with the concepts of global literature, world literature and transcultural literature in the context of German-Brazilian literature. After a terminological discussion, it focuses on two case studies of intellectuals in Brazilian exile which illustrate the archival dimension of the theoretical discussion, viz. the Jewish translator Herbert Caro and the artist Lasar Segall, thereby developing the concept of Global Archives.
